Trauma Informed and Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Mindfulness & Movement. We provide in person and virtual groups for clinical programs and the general public.

Solid Ground for Healing training is for yoga teachers and mental health professionals wanting to understand the intersection of mental health and yoga, and explore a healing centered, clinically focused approach to yoga and movement.

Hi, I’m Sandra Maurer, MA, E-RYT, YACEP,

Terra Firma was created out of a desire to provide adjunctive mental health treatment that included the body. We believe that by tapping into the body's innate wisdom, we are able to find a more integrated and holistic healing.

I came to this work with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Certification as a Birth Doula, and as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. Together with my partner Angela Zaun-Ollswang, TC-TSY-F, Jessie Everts, PhD, LMFT, and Sarah Zuber, E-RYT-500, we have created this training for professionals that is both healing centered and clinically focused.

We cover topics like:

How to create an environment supportive of resilience.

Why is trauma informed yoga and mindfulness useful or effective?

How to introduce and use yoga and mindfulness techniques to clients in clinical and non clinical settings.

How to identify which techniques will be most useful for each client/student.

How to adjust yoga and mindfulness techniques to serve changing needs of clients.

How to use yoga and mindfulness skills with different populations.
